Inspired by the theme of this exhibition. Forced to spread the wings and uphold mana as a new but old journey re-appears. The suggestive or unfinished nature of the drawing express the idea of an unfinished war or a story still being told. Kowhaiwhai is a representation of time and how sometimes we need to look back to go forward. All Tui heading the same way as a collective shows that strength is in togetherness. Each bird has their own pose, expressing individuality and the power of it, while the overall cohesiveness suggests the strength of togetherness and community.
